OSTOPIA is not a real place, but rather a scenario set in the present: This choreographic chamber play creates a private space within the public realm, exploring notions of identity and utopia.

The end of the grand narratives began with the fall of the Wall – and that’s exactly where OSTOPIA begins: it opens a door into a world that never truly existed. Not a real place, but a contemporary scenario in which two people share their everyday life on a sofa. The choreographic chamber play, performed by two dancers, transforms the sofa into a stage, an object, and a setting all at once.
Embedded within this intimate living-room atmosphere, the audience is invited to immerse themselves in the fictional world of OSTOPIA, where facts meet assumptions and reality merges with utopia.

In her choreographies, Mandy Unger combines autobiographical experience with choreographic research and social reflection. With OSTOPIA, she creates a multifaceted living-room evening that invites both contemplation and connection.
